CAIRO – 8 December 2017: The United States embassy in Jerusalem will be dealt with as an Israeli settlement established illegally on the land of Palestine, stated the Deputy Imam of Al-Azhar, Abbas Shoman.

During the Friday sermon at the Al-Azhar mosque, Shoman said that Trump was proud of his decision to relocate the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, which was made in utter disregard to Muslims and Christians around the globe.

The deputy imam further contended that the decision cannot be accepted by the free people of the world, illustrating that history repeats itself; Trump has given away what he does not own to those who do not deserve it, exactly akin to what Balfour did 70 years ago.

“The U.S. president's decision to transfer the embassy to Jerusalem is a terrorist decision and is no different to what terrorists are really doing,” Shoman added.

Trump announced on Wednesday evening that he has decided to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel amid numerous global and regional condemnations and worldwide warnings.
