Cairo – 28 March 2017: U.N. General Assembly President Peter Thomson has begun an African trip which will last from March 25 to April 2, 2017 to participate in high-level meetings, according to a Tuesday press statement.

Encouraging African participation in the Oceans Conference in New York June 5-9, Thomson will hold official discussions to boost sustainable development objectives in Africa.

His trip will include Senegal, Ethiopia and Egypt.

In Egypt, Thomson will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry to discuss building the Peace Process for all and cooperation on sustainable development plans for 2030 and sustainable peace.
