CAIRO - 8 March 2017: The Egyptian Cabinet approved new prices for sate-subsided wheat depending upon the quality of the crop, Minister of Agriculture Abdul Moneim El-Banna said in a press conference held in the Cabinet’s headquarters Wednesday.

The new prices will approach EGP 555 per ardeb (roughly 150kg) for a crop of 21 purity degrees, and EGP 575 per ardeb for a crop of 23 purity degrees, the minister added.

Banna also said the government considered the farmers’ interests before setting prices.
