CAIRO – 7 March 2017: The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a

statement

Tuesday condemning the attack that targeted a military base and killed 12 soldiers in Mali near the border with Burkina Faso.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid expressed his deepest sympathy to families of the killed soldiers, asking God to give them patience and adding that “Egypt stands by Mali to counter terrorism.”

Form its side, the fatwa monitoring observatory at Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa condemned the attack and released a statement Tuesday saying terrorist groups targeting citizens aim to “spread havoc and destruction everywhere.”
