CAIRO - 27 Nov. 2017: The Arab League (AL) on Monday stressed the importance of rallying media efforts in face of terrorism, the international phenomenon that claims souls of innocent people.

This came during the inaugural speech of AL Assistant Secretary General , Head of Media and Communication Sector, Haifa Abu Ghazaleh during the activities of the 90th session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media that convened Monday under Abdel Mohsen bin Farouk, the deputy minister of culture and information in Saudi Arabia.

Abu Ghazaleh reiterated AL condemnation of Sinai terrorist attack that left hundreds of worshipers dead and injured during Friday's prayers at al Rawda mosque in Bir al-Abd city.

Media's tackling of terrorism tops the agenda of the media committee, in light of media's key role in such battle that infiltrated all means of media especially the social media, Abu Ghazaleh said.

Bin Farouk, for his part, underscored the significance of boosting media efforts meant to support the Palestinian issue, fight terrorism and realize the goals of sustainable development plan for 2030.

Today's meeting addresses 12 items on outlining media priorities and media axes aimed at attaining the inspiration of people, Bin Farouk said, noting that the outcomes of the meeting will be referred to the executive office of the Arab information ministers council during its upcoming meeting on Tuesday.
