CAIRO – 25 November 2017: The “Tahya Misr” (Long Live Egypt) Fund launched a donation campaign on account No. 037037 to support Rawda village, where the terrorist attack occurred on Friday.

The donation campaign aims to provide sustainable development in the village in the fields of empowerment of women, job creation, health and education.

The fund’s executive director, Mohamed Ashmawy, stated that the fund is considering providing all aspects of support to Al-Rawdah Village, stressing that the fund will work to provide all the needs and support to the village’s families.

Ashmawy added that he is in contact with Egyptian Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram to launch this campaign abroad to give Egyptian expats the chance to donate to the victims of the terror attack.

The death toll of the terrorist attack that hit a mosque in Arish, North Sinai on Friday rose to 305, including 27 children, and 128 more people were wounded, according to the Attorney General’s statement.

A number of terrorists stormed Rawdah Mosque in west Arish City during Friday prayers and detonated an explosive device. The mosque was damaged as a result of the bomb.

Eyewitnesses said the terrorists set fire to cars that belonged to residents and blocked the road in Al-Rawdah village.

Security and medical sources in the attacked area reported that forces halted traffic on Arish-Qantara Road and deployed ambulance vehicles to transport the injured to the hospital.

A three-day state of mourning has been announced. Meanwhile, international condemnations have been issued in numerous statements worldwide. A total of LE 200,000 ($11,300) and LE 50,000 will be dispensed to the family of each worshiper whose life has been claimed and each injured victim, respectively.

Egypt launched a prolonged anti-terror crackdown a few years ago, trying to uproot extremists based in North Sinai.
