CAIRO – 19 November 2017: The Ministry of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs is organizing a workshop to engage expatriates in sustainable development programs in cooperation with Mexico for five days beginning Sunday.
It is considered as part of the ministry's efforts to participate in implementing Egypt’s vision of 2030.
The workshop is divided into two parts; starting with a three-day period that will be dedicated to enhancing employees’ skills in preparing the work plans and implementation mechanisms necessary to manage the issue of involving Egyptians abroad in the development of the country, Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram said.
Makram pointed out that the ministry had seen the Mexican experience during its roundtable discussion which was organized in February, in the presence of 14 ambassadors and representatives of countries with very rich experiences in promoting the participation of expatriates in national development. The Mexican side presented a unique method of connecting migrants and expressed its willingness to exchange experiences with the Egyptian side, Makram remarked.
She noted also that this agreement, which was initiated by the ministry in August, was followed by a training program for immigration and development in September.
