CAIRO – 8 November 2017: Since President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi took office, Egypt has been trying to direct its policies far from conspiracies, said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry; adding that they are exerting great efforts through the Security Council and African Union to cooperate with African leaders.

Diplomatic envoys try to reach peaceful solutions without confusing between the regional and international role. Egypt is among the top seven countries in peacekeeping forces, Shoukry added.

The Egyptian Agency for Development works to raise African nations’ capacity to achieve the proper political framework needed to overcome conflict, he stated.

Shoukry confirmed that confronting terrorism is the major challenge facing nations, which break down state bodies to provide services. Shoukry also commended the role of Egypt’s military forces in national security as well as confronting extremism and terrorism.

Sudanese Minister of Youth Abdul Karim Musa said that the issues of human trafficking and illegal immigration are multi-faceted, with reasons that include poverty. Shoukry stressed that these issues require dialogue for resolution.

Musa confirmed that developing countries have suffered the residue of colonialist rule and that developed countries should help them establish enterprises to live a decent life.

Moussa agreed with Sisi that confronting terrorism is a human right. He also stated that there is no budget allocated by the United Nations to combat illegal immigration.

The WYF, launched on Sunday, is a forum designed to give global youth the chance to engage in world development, allowing them to be heard by world leaders and influential individuals.

Egypt’s first international youth event runs until November 10, bringing together 3,000 youth represented by 60 international delegations, in an effort to explore key issues facing young people and determine their role in implementing global development goals and combating terrorism.
