CAIRO – 1 November 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received a phone call on Wednesday from his Somali counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo in which they discussed enhancing bilateral ties.

Sisi assured the depth of relations between the two countries, stressing Egypt's keenness on activating all aspects of cooperation with Somalia and its adherence to the unity of Somaliland.

For his part, Farmajo expressed his appreciation for Egypt's support of Somalia and achieving security and stability in Mogadishu, emphasizing his keenness to keep up the high level of coordination and consultation with Egypt on all issues of mutual concern.

During the phone call, the two parties also reviewed the latest developments in the Somali internal situation and the Somali government’s efforts to restore security and stability to meet the aspirations of the Somali people and achieve development and prosperity.
