CAIRO – 26 October 2017: Head of Free Egyptians party’s economic committee, Ihab Samra, said that Egypt is becoming a productive country; reciting upcoming French investments in Egypt as proof, as per the economic deals signed by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and the French party during his visit to Paris.

“Egypt is going to turn from a crisis country into a productive economy,” Samra said in an official statement on Wednesday; adding that this is the reason French President Emmanuel Macron is keen on improving relations with Egypt.

The parliamentarian attributed recent price hikes to the raising of salaries since 2013, which lead to more liquidity and thus price hikes.

“Egypt used to sell its assets before 2011, but now it is smartly investing,” Samra added in his statement.

On Monday morning, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived in Paris for a three-day visit to France, where he met his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and signed number of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements, worth €400 million ($472 million), in a bid to boost bilateral cooperation between both countries.
