AL ARISH, Egypt– 17 October 2017: North Sinai Governor Abdel Fattah Harhour decided on Tuesday to form a committee to assess damage inflicted on houses, shops and citizens' properties as a result of yesterday's terrorist attack in North Sinai's capital city of Arish.

This decision came to start estimating suitable compensations to be granted for the people who are affected by the attack.

The committee will be supervised by governorate's Secretary-General Mohamed el Saadani and will comprise representatives of financial affairs, urban planning, social solidarity and engineering department along with a number of bodies concerned.

The Ministry of Interior had said that three policemen and one civilian were killed while trying to abort a terrorist attack on the banks' area in Arish.

The incident took place when a group of terrorist elements targeted with guns and explosive charges security posts guarding key establishments in Arish.

A number of citizens were wounded and several houses, shops and cars were affected during the attack while the terrorists managed to seize a sum of money from a bank.

Security agencies started combing the area to hunt down the terrorist elements and arrest them, the ministry noted.
