MANAMA - 13 October 2017: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain welcomed the signed reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas factions under the sponsorship of Egypt, Bahrain News Agency reported.

The ministry affirmed that such a significant achievement will put an end to divisions and lead to a peaceful action, renunciation of violence, consolidation of the Palestinian ranks and reinforcement of their capabilities to confront the challenges facing their cause towards fulfillment of the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people.

The ministry also paid tribute to Egypt for the indefatigable efforts it has exerted to make the Palestinian reconciliation happen in an embodiment of its pivotal role in the service of Arab causes and protection of the Arab national security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering stance that strongly supported the Palestinians and backed all efforts aiming to attain comprehensive just peace and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on all its territories with East Al Quds as its capital based on the Arab Peace Initiative and the two-state solution.
