The head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Hania
CAIRO – 11 October 2017: The head of Hamas’ political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, received a phone call on Wednesday from his deputy in Cairo, updating him on the discussions that took place in the first session Tuesday.
Haniyeh expressed in a statement his gratitude to Egypt for its sponsorship; indicating his satisfaction with the atmosphere of national reconciliation, democracy, and political pluralism.
Haniyeh also thanked Egyptian officials for their efforts in solving the Palestinian issues and reaching national reconciliation on behalf of the Palestinian people.
He added that the movement implemented a strategic plan with Egypt to ensure the latter’s security and stability, as well as to end the division between the two Palestinians pillars.
Finally, he mentioned that they discussed how to support the residents of the Gaza Strip and decrease the siege they live under; along with discussing the events of Al Aqsa Mosque and Israeli plans of isolating the West Bank.
