Popular campaign lauds Iraq's withdrawal of UNESCO candidate

CAIRO - 6 October 2017: The popular campaign to support Ambassador Moushira Khattab’s bid for UNESCO director-general position on Thursday thanked Iraq for withdrawing its candidate in a show of support for Khattab.

In a statement, the campaign expressed appreciation of the Egyptian people for the Iraqi government and people.

Earlier in the day, Iraq announced that it withdrew its nominee for the position Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi in favor of Khattab.
