CAIRO – 28 September 2017: Primarily proposed by MP Abla al-Hawary, parliament is set to vote a new anti-loitering draft law.

The new bill is aimed to fight the prevalent phenomenon of begging by providing employment opportunities for children, and youth, in addition to criminalizing whoever is caught in the action.

Hawary also said that the proposed legislation is expected to stop exploiting children emotionally and physically by their families or foster families for begging, adding that it is going to be introduced during the third parliamentarian round expected to kick off within the coming days.
