Mercedes to return to Egyptian market after two years

CAIRO – 27 September 2017: The regional manager of Mercedes said in a press conference on Tuesday that the company is happy to return and invest in Egypt again after two years.

He added that they have handled all the obstacles facing the company with the Egyptian government. They are planning a new era of investment in Egypt.

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met Mercedes officials on Monday, directing the political leadership to solve the problems of investors in the economic zone of the Suez Canal, said Major General Mohab Mamish, the head of the Suez Canal Authority.

Mamish added that Mercedes asked to return to the Egyptian market. He expressed this strongly during his visit to Germany, explaining that the prime minister had contacted the Minister of Finance to discuss ways of Mercedes returning to Egypt.

Ismail has issued a decision to form a ministerial committee to settle investment disputes.
