ASWAN - 25 September 2017: Tourism Police Department on Sunday foiled an attempt to illegally dig for antiquities near Edfu Temple district of northern Aswan.

Police officers have found out a hole that lead to stone blocks expected to be ancient religious buildings, which may lead that an important archaeological discovery, a police source said.

Prosecution was notified to launch a probe into the report.
