LONDON - 22 Sep 2017: A small band of anti-Brexit protesters assembled outside the Santa Maria Novella church in Florence ahead of British Prime Minister Theresa May’s speech some waving placards with demonic-looking pictures of the PM on them, The Independent reported Friday.

"Denied a vote: Denied a voice,” one sign reads, waved by a British national living in Italy – one of thousands whose future in their adoptive country was plunged into uncertainty since a referendum they had no vote in.

May's speech in Florence is an attempt to break the deadlock in the Brexit negotiations as the last round was scheduled to be this week but it was postponed after the PM's speech.

The speech, as expected, will include a pledge that no nation in the EU would be hit by a loss because of the Brexit.
