CAIRO - 11 Sep 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Monday that the Arab quartet countries are coordinating action regarding their crisis with Qatar.

The quartet countries will always put their interests first, especially that they have had enough of interference in their domestic affairs, Shoukry said in statements on the fringe of the 23rd conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC).

No tolerance can be expected where terrorism is concerned, the top diplomat said, stressing that all support for terrorist organizations should stop.

There is no point of being part of international coalitions against terrorism, while muting response to those who shelter terrorists, Shoukry said, noting that this approach should change.

Shoukry also talked about the crisis in Syria and an upcoming round of negotiations in Astana.

He said the next Astana talks are meant to help ease the military conflict in Syria.

Political solutions should be reached in places of conflict in accordance with the will of their peoples, Shoukry stressed.

On relations with Italy, the foreign minister said both Cairo and Rome have a common desire to overcome some obstacles that resulted from regrettable incidents.
