CAIRO – 8 September 2017: The tiny emirate of Qatar has reportedly hired a U.S. public relations firm called “Stonington Strategies” in a $50K-per-month contract in order to cater to the U.S.-based Jewish community, according to a report released by O'Dwyer's, which specializes in covering public relations news.

The report cited Nick Muzin, an American Jewish strategist who is said to be the “driving force” behind the deal, as saying, "Engagement with Qatar can only be in the best interests of the United States and the Jewish community, as we cannot allow Qatar to be ostracized by its neighbors and pushed into Iran’s sphere of influence.”

The report further argues that due as a result of the current rift between Qatar and the neighboring states, “Muzin will advise on ways to build a closer relationship with the United States and improve ties with the Jewish community worldwide.”

“He will explore opportunities for political, cultural and economic cooperation with the U.S. and Israel, especially in the areas of trade, real estate, job creation and technology,” the report added.

Since June 5, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain have completely suspended transport and diplomatic links with Qatar over supporting militants and the extremist government of Iran, which Doha denies.
