CAIRO – 8 September 2017: As many as 495 Palestinian pilgrims have left Cairo Airport on Friday, heading to Sinai Peninsula in order to go back to Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing border, after performing hajj rituals in Mecca.

Egypt’s Interior Ministry has allocated a special terminal to welcome the Palestinian pilgrims, ordering the airport’s employees to ease the measures for all the guests, especially the elderly and passengers with special needs.

The Palestinian ambassador to Egypt welcomed his nationals at the airport.

The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip was open for two days on August 27-28 to allow humanitarian cases and Palestinian pilgrims to cross during Eid al-Adha.
