CAIRO, Aug 20 2017: The Ministry of Health on Sunday dismissed news circulated by the media and social media about a German movie exploring human organs trafficking in Egypt.

Describing the movie as bare of truth and groundless, the ministry reaffirmed that it was not recorded inside a public hospital affiliated with the Health Ministry.

The film doesn't prove organs trade inside hospitals, the ministry said in a statement, adding that the film aims at harming medical tourism in Egypt.

Organ transplant in Egypt is undertaken in accordance with the transplantation law in licensed places after organ donors register a donation contract at the Notary Office, the ministry said.

The ministry shed light on the restrictions imposed on Egyptian hospitals to monitor organs trafficking.

It also highlighted amendments made some provisions of organ transplantation law.
