Railway Authority aims to repair 1,200 km of rail

CAIRO – 12 August 2017: The Railway Station Authority aims to repair and renovate 1,200 kilometers of rail in order to achieve safe train tracks, said Mohamed Ezz, spokesman of the Ministry of Transportation.

The spokesman’s statements came during a televised phone interview with a morning TV show, one day after the Alexandria train collision that left 41 people killed and more than 120 others injured on Friday.

He also stressed that the renovation is not only by buying new trains, but also through developing the rail bars. Ezz further expressed his condolences for the families of the victims.
