CAIRO – 11 August 2017: Qatar has only two choices: Arab unity or leave without any discussion, Dhahi Khalfan, former chief of Dubai’s police, said.

“Qatar has to be either a bankrupt, practical dictatorial country or join the kingdom and Arab alliance,” Khalfan said in a tweet.

“Whoever tries to insult the kingdom, tries to insult an entire nation...Qatar has to be either with Arab unity without discussion...or leave without discussion...but those reluctant are often hypocrites …so (Qatar), do not be reluctant,” he continued.

“Be brave and decide either to be with us or not…do not be hesitant...Qatar misses today the brave leader,” he added.
On June 5, a number of Arab countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, cut all diplomatic and transport ties with Qatar over accusations of funding terrorist groups in the region.

The Arab quartet issued 13 demands to Doha, including closing Al Jazeera televsion channel.

In August, it was reported that Qatar started facing a financial crisis. Yahya al-Kedwany, deputy of the parliament’s National Security and Defense Committee, said that Doha’s reduction in funding “Al Araby Television Network” and its withdrawal of Qatari residency from some Brotherhood leaders confirms that Doha is suffering from economic crises, and that the banned Brotherhood group will face internal crises with their international organization in Qatar.
