Part of the festival in Gaza
CAIRO - 5 August 2017: The Association of the Egyptian Community in Gaza in collaboration with the Tribal Affairs Supreme Commission launched Saturday a festival in solidarity with Egypt against terrorism. In addition to political faction representatives, members of the Palestine Liberation organization-Executive Committee, Islamic figures, intellectuals, and representatives of civil society organizations attended the festival that started in Al-Sarya compound in the middle of the Gaza strip.
19:07 - The festival started with people cheering “Long Live Egypt,” and playing both the Palestinian and the Egyptian anthem. The head of the Association of the Egyptian Community delivered the opening speech and sent a greeting to Egyptians, the ending a speech was delivered by Adel Abdel Rahman the head of the Egyptian community in Gaza sending a message of thanking to Egypt for its continues support to the Palestinian cause.
19:20 - Political Analyst, Talal Okal commented to ON E TV from Gaza on the festival saying that this event represents the overall position of the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip. He added that the Egyptian Community in Gaza honored a number of public figures in Gaza few days ago, with participation of Ismail Haniyeh. This is a message to Egypt that what hurts Egypt hurts all Palestinians in Gaza Strip and reflects on the daily life of Palestinians as well.
19:35 - Leader of Fatah in Gaza Strip, Zakaria al-Agha, delivered a speech in the festival, saying that Egypt is standing strongly in the face of terrorism. Palestinians support Egypt in its fight against terrorism. He added that Palestinians trust the Egyptian government, leadership and people and believe that Egypt can defeat terrorism. Al-Agha said that the Egyptian army sacrificed blood for the Palestinian cause and to liberating Palestine. He called on Egypt to continue its efforts on the level of the Palestinian National reconciliation according to Cairo accords 2011. He concluded long live Egypt and glory to all Egyptian and Palestinian martyrs.
19:42 - President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Gaza, Walid Al-Hussari delivered a speech in the festival saying that Palestinians pray to God to grant victory to Egypt on terrorism. He added that relations between Egyptians and Palestinians in Gaza are so strong and can never be broken. He concluded his speech by saying Long Live Egypt, Long Live Egypt, Long Live Egypt.
20:12 - Head of the National Commission for Tribal Affairs in the Gaza Strip, Akif Al-Massri also delivered a speech confirming the depth of the Egyptian-Palestinian relationship. He said, we affirm that for the sake of the Egyptian and Palestinian martyrs we must end the Palestinian fragmentation and seek an immediate reconciliation. Al-Massri said: “Palestinian people in Gaza have the right to hold fair and transparent elections governed by the Palestinian constitution and laws.” He added: “Egypt is in the heart of every Palestinian and we, the National Commission for Tribal Affairs in the Gaza Strip, confirm that we will continue our efforts to end the Palestinian internal division by popular pressure.” He concluded, Long Live the Egyptian army and shame for murderers and terrorists.
20:20 - An interesting finale for the festival came through reciting an amended version of memorable words by late Yasser Arafat “The pledge is the pledge, the oath is the oath, and the liberation march will continue until the Palestinian and Egyptian flags are raised on Al-Aqsa mosque.”
20:26 - The head of the Egyptian community in Gaza concluded the festival by thanking all those who contributed to the success of this national celebration in solidarity with Egyptian people. He also promised that such events will continue as way to send a message to Egypt that Palestinian people in Gaza support the Egyptian government, leadership and people in the fight against terrorism.
