CAIRO – 29 July 2017: State Security investigations named the terrorist group and IS-affiliate Jund Al-Khilafa (Soldiers of the caliphate) as the perpetrators of the Minya bus shooting attack that took place late May, leaving 29 Copts dead and dozens injured.

Investigations also disclosed that the implicated terrorists set up a camp near the western desert where they planned and trained for the attack, adding that six terrorists intercepted the bus carrying Copts on their way to a monastery; 2 of whom first raided the bus , stealing the victims’ properties before the other 4 jumped in.

IS Islamic states group claimed responsibility for the attack which occurred on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan; they have repeatedly announced that Copts are one of their main targets and they aspire to drive them out of the eastern world.
