Egypt’s military museums open free for October War anniversary

CAIRO – 5 October 2025: The Armed Forces announced that military museums across the country will open their doors to the public free of charge until Monday in celebration of the 52nd anniversary of Egypt’s glorious 6th of October, 1973 victory.

The initiative includes the 6th of October Panorama’s outdoor weapons display area, Port Said Military Museum and Al-Alamein Military Museum.

The move comes as part of the Armed Forces’ commitment to promoting national and military awareness and highlighting the heroism and sacrifices of Egypt’s army personnel in defense of the nation’s dignity and sovereignty.

The October 1973 Victory, in which Egyptian forces crossed the Suez Canal and reclaimed Sinai territories occupied by Israel since 1967, remains a defining moment in Egypt’s modern history.

The triumph restored national pride, reshaped regional dynamics, and demonstrated the resilience and unity of the Egyptian people. The anniversary continues to symbolize courage, sacrifice, and the enduring commitment to defending Egypt’s sovereignty and dignity.

Marking the day, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi visited the Memorial of the Armed Forces’ Martyrs on Sunday morning and laid wreaths at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the tomb of late President Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, and the mausoleum of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
