CAIRO – 2 September 2025: The Ministry of Health and Population announced that the third phase of the “100 Days of Health” campaign has delivered 71,685,323 free medical services across Egypt within just 48 days since its launch on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The nationwide initiative aims to enhance healthcare services and expand access for citizens in all governorates.
The campaign was launched under the directives of Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, who emphasized the importance of strengthening national health initiatives to improve the efficiency of Egypt’s healthcare system and achieve universal health coverage.
According to Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson of the ministry, the campaign provided 1,509,355 free medical services on Sunday alone. He explained that 12 different health sectors participated in the initiative, each playing a complementary role in delivering services and achieving health and development goals.
The breakdown of services included:
416,481 services through the Primary Healthcare Sector.
443,335 services through the Curative Care Sector.
109,772 services as part of Presidential Public Health Initiatives.
43,242 services through the Preventive Medicine Sector.
79,872 services through facilities under the General Authority of Teaching Hospitals and Institutes.
5,663 services under the “Your Health is Happiness” mental health support initiative.
209,991 services at General Authority for Health Insurance hospitals.
5,335 ambulance services provided by the Egyptian Ambulance Authority.
98,737 services delivered by specialized medical centers of the Medical Secretariat.
2,149 surgeries carried out to reduce waiting lists.
15,393 services through Therapeutic Institution hospitals.
In addition to medical care, the campaign also prioritized awareness and health education. More than 79,385 citizens received health awareness services through community outreach teams operating in public spaces, clubs, and shopping malls across governorates. These efforts aimed to raise public health awareness, encourage preventive practices, and guide citizens to benefit from the services offered by the campaign.
The “100 Days of Health” campaign reflects Egypt’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, raising health awareness, and providing free medical services to millions of citizens, reinforcing the state’s strategy for comprehensive health coverage.
