CAIRO – 27 July 2017: The Turkish airlines aircraft No. 0691 took off Thursday from Cairo International Airport to Istanbul after the Airport authorities controlled the plane engine fire.

The Turkish aircraft caught fire earlier on Thursday at Cairo International Airport and was delayed for three hours, but no injuries were found, sources at the Airport told Egypt Today under the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to brief the media.

The sources said police and fire engines controlled the fire, pointing out that the airport authorities evacuated the plane immediately following the appearance of smoke.

The plane was scheduled to take off at 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning and most of its passengers were heading to Sweden via Istanbul Airport, the sources added.
