President El-Sisi witnesses the opening of World Military Equestrian Championship Egypt 2025 in the New Administrative Capital on May 5, 2025
CAIRO – 9 May 2025: Egyptian Armed Forces took part in the 80th anniversary celebrations of Victory Day, currently underway in Moscow's iconic Red Square, with the participation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The commemoration began with the ceremonial raising of the Russian flag accompanied by military music, marking the official launch of the Victory Day festivities. President El-Sisi was present at the event, underscoring Egypt’s recognition of the historic occasion.
President El-Sisi arrived at Red Square to attend the 80th anniversary ceremony, joining a number of world leaders and dignitaries paying tribute to the sacrifices made during World War II.
Victory Day is a significant national event in Russia, commemorating the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi Germany in 1945. Egypt’s participation in this year’s celebration highlights the ongoing diplomatic and military ties between Cairo and Moscow.
