CAIRO – 7 May 2025: Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his pleasure for receiving Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Athens on Wednesday.
On his official Facebook page, Mitsotakis said that “It was a pleasure to welcome my dear friend, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to the Maximos Palace, within the framework of the first High-Level Cooperation Council between Egypt and Greece.”
“There is a strong foundation between our two countries, to continue working together and coordinate to address the common challenges facing our broader environment. With the declaration on the strategic partnership that we signed, we affirm our shared will to further enhance our close cooperation,” the Greek PM added.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held talks with Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Prime Minister’s headquarters in Athens.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President Sisi and the Greek Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting, followed by an expanded session of talks attended by delegations from both countries. Later, Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis hosted a luncheon in honor of President Sisi.
The talks centered on bilateral relations and ways to forge closer cooperation, with a particular focus on enhancing collaboration within the East Mediterranean Gas Forum and the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus.
