CAIRO – 1 May 2025: The Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip has killed 52,418 martyrs and injured 118,091 others since October 7, 2023, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza in a daily news briefing on Thursday.

A total of 18 martyrs (including one recovered martyr) and 77 injuries were received in Gaza Strip hospitals over the past 24 hours, the report added.

Meanwhile, a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, unable to be reached by ambulances and civil defense teams.

The death toll and injuries since March 18, 2025 has reached 2,326 martyrs and 6,050 injuries. On  March 18, Israel shattered a two-month ceasefire in Gaza brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, resuming one of the century’s bloodiest conflicts.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights said on Thursday that the Israeli war destroyed approximately 90 percent of the Gaza Strip's housing and infrastructure, as well as industrial, commercial, agricultural, and service facilities.

Also, the UNRWA announced on Thursday that about 660,000 children in the Gaza Strip are not receiving any schooling due to the war. Temporary education activities in the Gaza Strip have been severely affected by the resumption of Israeli shelling, the UN agency added.

Recent Israeli displacement orders in the Gaza Strip have made it more difficult for children to access psychosocial and recreational support, the UNRWA stated.
