Tourists turnover sees an increases in June

CAIRO – 26 July 2017: In June 2017, number of tourists recorded visiting Egypt increased to 533 thousand, compared to 328.6 in the same month last year, yet it slashed versus with the previous month which saw turnover of nearly 573 thousand, according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Also, the turnover recorded in tourism nights amounted to 4.850 million in June 2017, compared to 1.7 million in the corresponding month last year, seeing a record drop versus May 2017.

According to CAPMAs statement, occupancy in hotels achieved a double-digit increase, hitting a 45.2 percent increase in April 2017, compared to a 20 percent increase measured in the same month last year and also saw an increase of the occupancy rate versus 37.8 percent recorded March 2017.
