CAIRO – 19 March 2025: Egypt condemned a recent attack on the Somali presidential convoy, which resulted in "a number of" casualties, labeling it an act of terrorism and expressing full solidarity with Somalia and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
“Egypt expresses its strong condemnation of this criminal terrorist act and rejects all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilize security and stability in Somalia,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Wednesday.
Egypt extended its condolences to the government and people of Somalia, as well as to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
