Egyptian FM Badr Abdelaaty praises Cairo-Manama bilateral relations
CAIRO - 3 February 2025: At the end of his visit to Manama, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelaaty, met with Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahraini Minister of Finance and National Economy, on Monday.
Minister Abdelaaty praised the upward trend witnessed by Egyptian-Bahraini relations, especially after the visit of the President of the Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain in June 2022, which included the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in the economic fields, most notably the establishment of the Egyptian-Bahraini Governmental Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation headed by the Ministers of Finance of the two countries, with the aim of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the economic, trade and investment fields.
Minister Abdelaaty reviewed the developments in the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to develop bilateral relations in various economic, investment and trade fields, in a way that benefits the two brotherly peoples.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs touched on the extensive institutional reforms witnessed by Egypt aimed at facilitating procedures to support foreign investments.
He expressed the Egyptian side's aspiration to host an Egyptian-Bahraini Businessmen Forum in Cairo and to work on holding it periodically, to encourage mutual investment between the business communities of the two countries, so that investment advantages and opportunities can be reviewed, highlighting the development witnessed by the infrastructure sector in Egypt, pointing to the necessity of joint work to advance aspects of bilateral cooperation in the economic and investment fields, in a way that achieves mutual interests.
