Egypt, Qatar stress joint work to preserve gains of ceasefire agreement

CAIRO - 22 January 2025: On the second day of his participation on behalf of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the activities of the World Economic Forum "Davos 2025" in Switzerland, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, received Wednesday His Excellence Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of Ambassador Mohamed Negm, Egypt's Ambassador to Switzerland.
 
The meeting discussed efforts to build on the qualitative shift witnessed by bilateral relations between Egypt and Qatar recently, in order to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially economic cooperation, based on the deep historical relations that bind the two countries.
 
The two sides also stressed the continuation of coordination and joint work between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the sisterly State of Qatar, in partnership with the United States of America, in order to preserve the gains of the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect as of January 19, and implement its various stages, in an effort to ensure that the truce results in the start of reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of the Strip.
