PARIS – 25 July 2017: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday took part in a reception held by the Egyptian Embassy in Paris on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.

The ceremony, which was held at the residence of Egypt’s Ambassador in Paris and permanent delegate to UNESCO Ehab Badawy, was attended by Egypt’s nominee for the organization’s secretary general post Ambassador Mushira Khattab and the deputy speaker of France’s National Assembly.

Shoukry is on a visit to Paris for meetings with senior French officials and the permanent delegates to UNESCO to mobilize support for Khattab.

Later in the day, the top diplomat will meet with head of the Libyan national unity government Fayez al Serraj and new UN envoy for Libya Ghassan Salame.

They will tackle the outcome of the meeting of the two Libyan officials with French President Emmanuel Macron to reach a political settlement to the crisis in Libya. It was attended by Commander of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Hafter.
