CAIRO – 6 December 2024: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi invited on Friday King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary of Denmark to visit Egypt and attend the opening celebration of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
“It gives me great pleasure to invite you to visit Egypt to celebrate together the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum dedicated to one of the oldest civilizations in history, the Egyptian civilization,” President Sisi said during attending a dinner banquet hosted by the King of Denmark Frederik X.
In his speech, President Sisi expressed sincere thanks and gratitude for the warm welcome and distinguished hospitality he witnessed since arrival on his first visit to Denmark.
“I also take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II for continued health and safety. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the world as a whole,” Sisi said.
The Egyptian President highlighted the common goals between Egypt and Denmark that represent an important bridge for communication and dialogue between the two friendly countries. “They are a valuable opportunity to enhance cooperation in various fields, in order to achieve the strategic horizons we aspire to.”
He noted that “at this critical stage in human history, we must shoulder a shared responsibility in spreading the values and principles of justice, peace, equality, tolerance and mutual respect among nations and cultures, and rejecting wars, violence and hatred.”
Sisi explained that the launch of the "Egyptian-Danish" Business Council, and the consensus that prevailed during his talks with king Frederik X and with the CEOs of the largest Danish companies operating in Egypt, reflect a firm belief in the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic and investment fields, in light of the enormous potential and opportunities available to Egypt and Denmark.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi arrived, Thursday in the capital of the Kingdom of Denmark, Copenhagen, at the beginning of a European tour.
Sisi met with King Frederik X of Denmark on the first leg of his European tour that also includes visits to Norway and Ireland.
The president laid a wreath of flowers at the memorial for the unknown soldier. Subsequently, the President, accompanied by the king and queen of Denmark, proceeded to Amalienborg Palace in horse-drawn carriages.
Sisi expressed his gratitude to King Frederik for his warm reception, emphasizing his pride in this visit as the first by an Egyptian president to Denmark.
He affirmed his anticipation that this visit would enhance relations between both countries in all fields.
President Sisi and King Frederik X of Denmark opened today the Egyptian-Danish business conference in Copenhagen.
Many businessmen and CEOs of Egyptian and Danish companies have attended the event.
In his speech at the conference, Sisi noted that Egypt and Denmark will sign a declaration to elevate the relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership.
During his visit, Sisi is set to take part in economic meetings and events, witnessing the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across various collaborative domains, said the presidential spokesman, Mohamed El-Shenawy on Thursday.
