Egyptian-European Association Council meeting kicks off in Brussels

CAIRO - 25 July 2017: The seventh session of the Association Council between the European Union and Egypt kicked off on Tuesday in Brussels under the co-chairmanship of Foreign Minister Sameh Shourky and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid via Twitter.

The session, held at the European Commission premises in Brussels, is titled "Partnership in Development and Confrontation of Common Challenges".

The Association Council is expected to endorse the EU-Egypt partnership priorities for 2017-2020. The identified priorities cover economic reforms, good governance, rule of law and human rights, migration and security/counterterrorism, as well as closer dialogue and cooperation on regional issues.

The Association Council will discuss the prospects for enhanced dialogue and cooperation in this framework
