CAIRO – 24 July 2017: Egypt aims to increase its populated area from 7 percent to11percent by 2030, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Mostafa Madbouly announced in his speech during the fourth round of National Youth Conference.

The conference addressed top national issues and particularly the economic reform. The first session tackled issues surrounding Egypt’s 2030 Vision on development projects.

Madbouly spoke about Egypt's vision on development projects. He stated that Egypt is working hard to reduce and eliminate slums. He also added that our conscience does not allow us to leave our poor families in the slums until 2020.

Madbouly stated that by 2020, a million residential units will be implemented, and he pointed out that 700,000 units, worth LE 47 billion, have been implemented during the last three years.

Madbouly mentioned the sewage and water projects too. He said the sanitation services covered 20 percent of Egyptian villages in the last three years, and he mentioned that the main problem of solving the sanitation problem is in funding.

In his final speech, he point out the problems of building on agricultural land. The housing minister said that this problem has more than one dimension, and Egypt has planned development programs to end this issue.
