CAIRO - 17 September 2024: Former Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila expressed her deep gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian government, and the people of Egypt for their continuous support of the Palestinian cause and their efforts to deliver aid to the people of Gaza, both before and during the ongoing Israeli war on the region.

Al-Kaila emphasized that Egypt remains a steadfast ally of the Palestinian people and their just cause, especially during the current humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

In an exclusive statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) bureau chief in Amman, on the sidelines of the 8th Regional Conference of the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) held in Jordan, Al-Kaila highlighted Egypt’s significant efforts in facilitating the entry of medical and humanitarian aid into Gaza.

However, she pointed out that the real obstacle lies in the Israeli occupation, which is blocking the delivery of aid. She mentioned witnessing the substantial amounts of aid waiting at the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side, but the Israeli authorities are impeding its entry.
