CAIRO – 12 July 2023: General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan stated that the board would be convening Wednesday to agree on the final format of specialized committees that would list the recommendations, put forward during the sessions, in preparation for presenting them to the president, who would either endorse them directly or refer them to institutions in charge.

Rashwan said in his speech during the dialogue inaugural session in May that since preparations had begun in 2022, "we have had several guarantees of its success, this includes the release of 1400 pretrial detainees, along with the issuance of presidential pardons for nearly 15 convicts.”

“The dialogue held 100 closed sessions, in addition to another 23 sessions among members of the board of trustees,” the general coordinator highlighted, adding that “All results of the dialogue sessions will be submitted to the President personally”

Rashwan stressed that “There isn’t a single party, syndicate, entity for youth, or a political power that has not participated in the National Dialogue.”
