CAIRO – 1 June 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was updated on the implementation and development process of the power control centers which aim to improve electricity transmission and the quality of the national electricity grid in general.

 

This came during a meeting held on Thursday with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy. Dr. Mohamed Shaker, said Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.

 

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the status of a number of projects carried out by the Ministry of Electricity nationwide.

 

The meeting also discussed the matter of securing electrical supply for the national land reclamation projects in Egypt, especially in Toshka, the New Delta, Sinai and Upper Egypt, Fahmy said.

 

The President was also briefed on the developments of electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Greece, Cyprus and Italy, Fahmy continued.

 

The Spokesman stated that the President directed that the electricity sector be further developed and the successes achieved in this regard over the past years be increased in a way that supports the comprehensive development plan in all sectors, especially industry and agriculture. This is in addition to continuing to improve the quality of electrical services provided to citizens and strengthening the electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries in order to achieve mutual economic benefit.
