CAIRO – 29 May 2023: Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly received, on Monday, his Palestinian counterpart Mohammed Shtayyeh at Cairo International Airport.

 

The Palestinian Prime Minister heads a high-level official delegation on a three-day visit, during which bilateral meetings will be held to enhance cooperation, according to statements from the Egyptian cabinet and the Palestinian embassy in Cairo.

 

An official reception ceremony was held for the Palestinian Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Mohammad Ayman Ashour, the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

It is scheduled that Madbouly and Shtayyeh will hold an expanded session of talks, in the presence of ministers from the Egyptian and Palestinian sides to discuss a number of cooperation files between Egypt and the Palestinian Authority.

 

His three-day visit comes at the invitation of his Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly, said Palestinian ambassador to Egypt Diab Al Louh, noting that the high-level meeting is the second gathering for the Palestinian-Egyptian Higher Joint Committee as the first meeting was held in early October 2019.

 

The ministers participating in the visit are Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Al-Maliki; the Minister of Interior Major General Ziyad Hab Al-Rih; Minister of National Economy Khaled Al-Osaili; Minister of Agriculture Riyad Attari; Minister of Health Dr. May Al-Kaila; Minister of Education and Higher and Scientific Research Mahmoud Abu Mowais; Minister of Public Works and Housing Muhammad Ziyarah; Minister of Transport and Communications Assem Salem; Palestinian Minister of Awqaf Hatem Al-Bakri, along with the Palestinian government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Amjad Ghanem; Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Authority Dhafer Melhem, and a number of senior advisors to the Prime Minister.
