Egypt’s Sisi, South Africa’s Ramaphosa discuss food, energy conditions

CAIRO - 16 May 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday, wheee they discussed means to enhance bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, and trade. 

They also discussed advancing consultation and coordination on various issues of peace, security and economic development, given the weight that the two countries have in serving African interests as a whole.

The two leaders tackled developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, taking into account its adverse repercussions on the economic, food and energy conditions in Africa.
