Arab League to remain main platform for defending Palestinian cause: Abul Gheit

CAIRO, May 2 (MENA) - Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit asserted that the Arab League (AL) will remain a main platform for defending the Palestinian cause as it is a central cause in the Arab world.

He asserted that the AL exerts every effort to support the rights of the Palestinians.

This came during Abul Gheit's reception to Ambassador Muhannad al Aklouk while present his credentials as Palestine's permanent envoy to the Arab League.

Meanwhile, Aklouk, during the meeting, lauded the efforts exerted by the Arab League to support the Palestinian cause at international gatherings especially in light of the violations and practices of the Israelis against the Palestinians.

Aklouk said that the AL has a major and important role in several success stories topped by preventing Israel from getting the membership of UNSC in 2019-2020.

During the meeting, Aklouk apprised Abul Gheit of the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.
