CAIRO – 11 February 2023: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah chaired a delegation and headed for Egypt to participate in the Jerusalem Conference 2023, which is scheduled to be held in the League of Arab States tomorrow, Sunday, February 12, 2023, KUNA reported on Saturday.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo, on Saturday, to participate in the conference in support of Jerusalem, which will be held on Sunday at the headquarters of the Arab League, amid high-level Arab, regional, and international representation, announced Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab Al-Louh in a statement on Friday.

“The President's participation in the conference's activities aims to confront the practices of the Israeli occupation forces in light of the fierce targeting of the city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites and the Jerusalemites therein, with the increase in the pace of Judaization, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially after the formation of the far-right government that aims to destroy a solution of the two states,” the statement read.

The conference will shed light on the suffering of the people of Jerusalem and the defense of their right to live on their land and to highlight their steadfastness, and try to provide more Arab and institutional support for development and investment in the city of Jerusalem to enhance the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites through financing investment development projects in the sectors of health, education, housing and empowerment of women.

It will also focus on submitting a proposal to establish an Arab voluntary fund in which member states, Arab funds, the private sector and Arab development agencies contribute to support small and medium enterprises in the city of Jerusalem, and to form a legal committee of Arab legal experts to follow up on the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people before international courts, the statement continued.
