ANKARA, Feb 6 (MENA) - Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that Türkiye's earthquake toll rose to more than 284 dead and 2,323 injured across 10 provinces.


In statements to TRT News, Qktay said that that 1,710 buildings were destroyed.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Twitter that "search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched" to the areas hit by the quake.

The 7.4-magnitude quake in Türkiye occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers and was followed by 66 aftershocks, according to Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), including two of magnitude 6.4 and 6.5 that struck southeastern Gaziantep province.
