Five Egyptian crew members of ‘BEATA ALFA’ cargo ship return to country

CAIRO – 25 January 2023: Five Egyptian crew members of "BEATA ALFA" cargo ship that exploded off Turkey’s coast returned home on Wednesday.

The explosion left several of ship's 17-member crew, including 14 Egyptians, injured.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry still maintains contacts with all bodies concerned, including the Egyptian embassy in Ankara, to make sure that the remaining nine injured are provided with best medical services.

The ministry said the Egyptian embassy is maintaining contacts with Turkish bodies concerned to find all updates of underway investigations into the incident and is also keeping contacts with the maritime agent to make sure that all Egyptians got their financial compensations.
