Egypt sees light rain, decline in temperature

CAIRO – 16 January 2023: Cairo saw light rain on Monday, as it’s expected to rain all over the country during the coming days along with a noticeable decline in temperature.

The Meteorological Authority expected a decrease in temperatures and light to medium rains starting Monday at north of the country to northern Upper Egypt, moderate in southern Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, and cold at night in most parts.

There are also chances of light to moderate rains that may be thundery in the south of Lower Egypt, the Canal cities and the Gulf of Suez, and moderate rains that may be heavy and thunderstorms on the northwestern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, and light to moderate rains that may be thundery at times on the northeastern coasts and Sinai, and light rains that may be moderate in northern Upper Egypt.

As for temperatures, Monday:

 Cairo: highs of 17 °C and lows of 11 °C

Alexandria highs of 17°C and lows of 11°C

Matrouh highs of 18 and lows of 12

Sohag highs of 19°C and lows of 07°C

Qena highs of 20°C and lows of 09°C

 Aswan highs of 21°C and lows 09°C
